William Floyd, PhD, CPA
Founder and President
William Floyd is an expert in financial reporting and disclosure, research design and econometrics, and the use of large and alternative data sets in economic analyses.
Prior to founding Floyd Analytics, he worked at the intersection of accounting, data science, and quantitative finance on the founding team of Pluribus Labs, a twice-acquired quantitative equity manager. He was deeply involved in the research and processes underlying the flagship global long-only fund, which systematically measured thousands of firms’ exposures to investible themes using text data sources. He focused on accounting-based signals for the long-short fund and led firm research on economically-motivated ESG investing.
He holds a PhD in Accounting from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where his dissertation research used computational text analysis to study changes in the content of corporate disclosures around adverse accounting events.
He also holds a BBA in Accounting and a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and has earned the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Credential granted by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.
